My Crypto Earnings (April)

By johnwege | johnwege | 1 May 2023

The year continues to fly by and we have already reached the end of April. This once again means that it is my favorite time of the month. When I calculate all of my crypto-related income for the month. If you are new, this is part of an ongoing series I write chronicling my journey toward hopefully reaching financial freedom. I don’t share these numbers to show off. Instead, I write these articles for two reasons. The first is that tracking and seeing my own progress helps to keep me motivated to keep working toward my goals. The second reason is that I hope someone reading this article will be motivated to begin their own journey toward financial freedom. After all; if I can do it, anyone can.

March was a very high-performing month due to receiving the Arbitrum airdrop. Therefore, there was nowhere to go but down during April. And that is exactly what happened.

With that said, I was still very happy with the results that I saw during April. My main sources of income continued to be from cryptocurrency writing and staking. As always, since I have stopped lending out Bitcoin I have been in search of a third pillar to add to my earning streams.

Without further delay, let’s look at my performance during April.

Cryptocurrency Blogging

Publish0x

As always, Publish0x remains one of my most consistent earners and has been increasing slightly over the last few months. The community here is great, and I enjoy reading other users' articles. While reward withdrawals on-chain remain very quick. Recently it has been frustrating how slow withdrawals via KuCoin have become. Sometimes taking 2–3 weeks. While this isn’t Publish0x’s fault and is instead due to KuCoin’s being slow. However, it still affects the overall experience on Publish0x.

As of writing this article, I have now reached 7,727 followers on Publish0x. Thank you all for your support and for reading my articles. I’m gradually inching closer to my next goal of reaching 8,000 followers and hope to reach that before summer hits Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read my articles and follow my blog.

Publish0x Total = $62.72

Hive / LeoFinance

For the first time in what seems like forever, my earnings have begun to rise on Hive. It’s still nowhere near what I was earning here during the last bull cycle, but I’m happy to see things beginning to improve. I’m hoping to see even more improvement next month.

Hive = $50.44 LeoFinance = $2.63

Combined Total = $53.07

Substack

My follower numbers on Substack continue to increase, but unfortunately, there were no new paid members this month.

While my performance dipped on Medium during April, I was very excited by my results. The reason for this is that I finally ventured out and stopped posting on other publications. Instead, I decided to start buying my own publication.

In the past, I used a variety of other publications such as Coinmonks. But as time passed I became displeased with their service. Often they were slow to accept new articles but would publish large amounts on any single day. Which meant it was easy for articles to get lost in the noise. Also, many of the articles there were of questionable content. And so I decided to venture out on my own and try to build something special. With a focus on quality rather than quantity.

Medium Total = $515

Freelance Writing

Unfortunately, there were no freelance writing opportunities this month.

Freelance Writing Total = $0

Cryptocurrency Blogging Total = $630.79

Crypto Staking

Kraken

0.0281134 ETH = $56.82

Due to Kraken eliminating staking options for US citizens; this will likely be my last month staking ETH on Kraken. Over the next few days, I will be considering my options of where to stake next.

Kraken Total = $56.82

Internet Computer (ICP)

ICP continues to be my underdog pick in the crypto market. It has a bad reputation that it needs to fix. But the technology behind it is incredible. Either way, it will likely do very well doing the next bull run. While I wait for that to happen, I am earning nearly 17–18% while staking and voting.

ICP Total Earned = 3.90 ICP = $23.80

Crypto Lending & Staking Total = $80.62

Airdrops

My SWEAT token airdrop continued to be gradually unlocked which I promptly sold off for more BTC. While it is free money and I can’t complain, I am still disappointed with how quickly this coin has dropped in value.

SWEAT — $2 (unlocked)

I was pleasantly surprised to receive an email from my Earnifi account telling me that I was eligible to claim the AIDOGE airdrop. I will be honest, I know next to nothing about this token. Since this token is built on Arbitrum, those who received the ARB airdrop, were eligible to receive this airdrop. I immediately swapped this token for more Ethereum and Bitcoin.

AIDOGE — $60

Airdrops Total = $62

Miscellaneous Total = $62

Total March Earnings = $773.41

Overall, even though my performance fell off quite a bit since March, I’m still very happy with my results during April. Crypto writing income always increases during bull markets, and I’m excited to see what I can earn when that time finally comes.
