What is Tally ho?
Tallyho is another WEB3 wallet just like metamask, bitkeep, coinbase wallet and so on, the list is endless when it comes to these WEB3 wallets. The only difference is that Tallyho is community owned. Its the first community owned wallet and when it comes to the technology space success is highly likely when you are the first at something in a specific field.
Ok so tallyho is community owned a DAO in the making then what? what benefit is it to me to download this wallet and make it the Optimus prime of wallets, quite frankly one of the most annoying things when it comes to WEB3 is the number of wallets on the market with each having its own unique features, like I prefer the Coinbase wallet whenever am receiving non fungible tokens (NFT's) its so user friendly and good for beginners in the crypto space. Plus for my crypto hot storage I prefer Bitkeep because they have 65 chains supported and I can easily switch chains without having to go through the tussle of manually adding chains/networks to it.
On another note I have racked up so many wallets and personally I grow tired of this whole shibang! from Metamask, Trustwallet, Safepal, BnBwallet, coinbase, Sphere by Horizen, Reddcoin desktop wallet, Tronlink, Atomic desktop wallet, Crust wallet, NeoLine, Wombat wallet, Talisman with its so called parachain of which I don't really care at this point. They are just too many doing the same thing and they all leave out what we want, what a wallet is supposed to be like and do.
Like what's up with this thing called gas fees and why would I need to have a native token to send a non native token/coin from point A to point B, the same goes for swapping, the non native token/coin in my wallet has value so why not chop the fees needed to send from that non native token/coin. Its so annoying that I need to have ethereum if am to send non native tokens on that network. The same goes for BNB smart chain and Polygon network. Look at it this way blockchain technology is fascinating with so many intelligent people out there coming up with new methods and ways to make things easier for the masses and yet no one is combating this issue of gas fees. Its like telling me that in order to send my Uganda shillings (local currency in Uganda) to Kenya I need to have British Pounds if am to do that, its silly isn't it.
The Idea of WEB3 well my idea of WEB3 is to break free from these centralised systems while giving people some sort of incentives to adopt blockchain technology but with these issues of gas fees in blockchain technology makes it no different from what we see today in the financial systems. Another thing that really bothers me is that the barrier to entry in the crypto spaces in most African countries is still high, many of these crypto projects are not taking a leaf from the African perspective, majority of the people in sub Saharan Africa don't have bank accounts, we have mobile money and I don't need to have a fancy smart phone to access mobile money you can still use the Nokia 8210 and receive/send money.
I would really love to see Tallyho adopt this, where someone Africa can easily buy crypto using Mobile money and withdraw fiat directly to your phone and without the minimum threshold. Some applications offer this but you have at least $15 to $20 in order to send crypto assets. But then again this is still early days for Tallyho and a jump like this involves a lot of pushbacks from the respective governments.
So here is to why am rooting for Tallyho;
- The wallet is owned by the community (DAO)
- Income benefits for being part of the Tally DAO (profits flow to the community)
- Reduced gas fees( Tallyho swaps are half the price of other wallets)
- Secure fully decentralised wallet ( makes it hard for governments to shutdown )
- Potential to grow into a Universal Basic Income (UBI) system (earn by just having crypto assets on Tallyho)
For More information about the potential Tallyho have a listen to the main man himself Matt Luongo #TallyHoWallet.
Ps Tallyho is not a complete product, its still in development. Please do research before, this is not financial advice this is my opinion. If you haven't yet downloaded the Tallyho wallet get it on this link https://tally.cash/download
