Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a battle using a specific card and on this week's post it is a dragon fight. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

rule set.png

The ruleset this time is super sneakhealed out and close range. It's a fairly rare combination but it gives ranked monsters and melee monster a way to attack from everywhere. There is also 58 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire, earth, life and dragon splinter.

The summoner I choose to use this time is Drake of Arnak. In a match like this, I think that +1 armor will be quite helpful for all of my cards and I can use my cards to it's highest level.

My plan is just to have a lineup using a few tanky monsters up in front. Unicorn Mustang is fast and strong so it is up first. Then there is War Chaang because it can attack from anywhere. There are two magic tank monsters as backup and two ranged monsters as my fast damage dealers.

Round 1

At the first glance of my opponent's lineup, I think it will be a dangerous match because my melee monsters will suffer but I do have the more strategic lineup. I won't have many people to attack his Grum so I am worried about the bloodlust but I think I still have the advantage over my opponent.

Round 2

round 2.png

It hurts to see all that armor on my tank go away due to the shatter but I was able to take out the repair monster at the back of my opponent's lineup. I don't think my sneak monster will last much longer but I have damaged quite a bit of my opponent's lineup and things should go faster after I remove the Disintegrator.

Round 3

round 3.png

I took out the sandworm and another monster. It doesn't look like I will be missing any firepower and the only thing I should be concerned about is the Grum. It should be a lot easier after the rest of the monsters are down and it shouldn't take more than a round or two. I'll speed up to the end of the fight to see how things go.

conclusion.png

With all that double attack, I had 15 damage per round and I was able to take out grum before it could do more damage through it's bloodlust. I am glad that Grum's speed is quite slow and I was able to attack faster than it.

Conclusion

The battle this time around went exactly as I expected. The lineup I went for had a bunch of fill in tank monsters and I was never lacking damage at any point in the battle. Since my ranged monsters are fast, I was able to avoid missing my attacks and I was able to take advantage of enrage to boost two melee monsters.

The -2 armor from Wizard of Eastwood was not that great but it did allow me to place the highest level monsters that I could. On my opponent's side, I don't know why he did not place supply runner in the last spot. It makes more sense to leave it in the last spot to do more damage and having 1 more health doesn't matter as much. The extra damage that the supply runner could do would cover it in a round or two. Other than that, I think my opponent had a strong line up.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
