Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a battle using a specific card and on this week's post it is the Disintegrator card. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.
Featured Monster: Disintegrator

Disintegrator is a neutral splinter card that costs 7 mana. It starts with the demoralize skill. After leveling up the card, it learns trample at level 5, knock out at level 8, and retaliate at max level. Its stats are fairly low but I think the abilities make up for the low stats.
I don't really use this card much but I do think this card is a great support monster. The demoralize ability decreases all melee attacks by 1 and I have seen it used against me quite often. Sometimes, this can mean the difference between a win or lose in a battle. The great thing about this card is that it is a neutral monster so I can play this whenever I see it fit.
Rule set, Battle and Plan
The ruleset this time is Stampede and Reverse speed. The first ruleset tends to be quite useless to me because I rarely use stampede monsters and I also rarely see them used against me. The second ruleset is what I am concerned about and that is the reverse speed. Based on this, I would prefer to have slower monsters over fast monsters because they will dodge more and move earlier. I have 46 mana available and I can use all splinters except water and life.

The summoner I choose to use this time is Yodin Zaku. There are a decent amount of slow cards sitting around in my fire deck that I can take advantage of and the blast ability is extremely powerful. Given my summoner choice, I would also like to take advantage of the +1 ranged attack and use ranged monsters over sneak or magic monsters.
My plan is just to have a lineup where my monsters can live long enough to outlast my opponent using the blast damage. So my choice of tank is Grum Flameblade with his Bloodlust ability and void armor ability. This means that any magic attacks will hit his armor first and any monster killed by it will also give him extra health, armor, and attack. Next, I will have Molten Ash Golem as my 2nd spot to tank any snipe attacks and it also has the close range ability to attack from the front if my Grum dies early. The last spot will be the Disintegrator to tank any sneak attacks and most sneak monsters are melee-based. The rest of the monsters will just be ranged monsters.
Round 1

At the first glance of my opponent's lineup, I think I have this match won. Grum is a great tank and he should survive at least one round because of the void armor ability. On the other hand, my opponent is only going to suffer because of the taunt ability in his 2nd slot. This means that every single ranged attack will deal damage to 3 monsters until that card dies.
Round 2

In the first round, I was able to take out two monsters and it's not looking great for my opponent. Given my line-up, I don't see any chance of me losing this match because my Grum will definitely kill a monster this round.
Round 3

With just a ranged monster in front, there is zero chance of me losing this match because my opponent can't even attack anymore. My ranged monsters made quick work of his line up and I was able to lower the damage on my grum because of the blood lust.

As expected, my opponent died this round without any issues.
Conclusion
The battle this time around went exactly as I expected. My plan of using Disintegrator to tank sneak monsters was kind of a waste but the rest of my lineup worked out well. The oppress didn't help me as much because my opponent only has 1 melee monster. With Grum all in front, it would live for at least a round or two even if there were magic monsters. The rest of my ranged monsters in-between did their job of doing damage.
Yodin Zaku is one of my favorite summoners due to the ranged attack boost and blast ability. Actually, I think Grum with the blood lust ability works well with Yodin because the blood lust ability can trigger when a monster dies from the blast damage. On my opponent's side, I think his lineup was fairly strong but Yodin works well against the taunt ability. My opponent kind of built his line up expecting me to use magic monsters but I did not use them at all. I also think Unicorn Mustang and some of his lineup was a bad choice because of the reverse speed rule set.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
