Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a rule set using a specific card and on this week's post it is a battle with the Healed Out rule set. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is healed out and counterspell. This means that healing abilities do not work and all magic attacks are reflected. There is also 50 mana available and I am left with the choice of every splinter except for water.

The summoner I choose to use this time is Yodin Zaku. In a match like this, I think having blast damage will help out more and my opponent won't be able to heal either.

My plan is just to have a lineup using Grum as my tank just in case there are any magic monsters on my enemy's side. Then I have the rest of my lineup with ranged monsters. There is one with headwinds to reduce range attack by 1 and the snipe/opportunity will allow me to hit the middle of my opponent's lineup.

Round 1

At the first glance of my opponent's lineup, it's going to be a hard fight because we are both using Yodin. I do think it's possible for me to win, but it will be a toss-up. Both of us are using a monster with headwinds so it will just depend on who can do more damage.

Round 3

round 3.png
I skipped forward over to the third round because nothing died after the first round. It looks like I am at a huge disadvantage because all my tankier monsters are already dead. It doesn't help that my opponent still has 2 close-range monsters left.

Unfortunately, I couldn't dodge any attacks and my monsters just kept dying. So I ended up losing this match

Conclusion

The battle this time around did not go as I expected. I wasn't expecting my opponent to also use Yodin and my opponent's use of adding extra armor made it hard for me to kill off my opponent's monsters. None of us used magic monsters and it was unlikely to happen, so I should have changed out my Grum for a monster with the shield ability. I still think having that headwinds monster was a good choice even if it was negated by my opponent also using one. My idea to target more monsters in the middle of the lineup was a good idea but it also spread out my damage too much. It hurt me and I could have done better.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players play in a ruleset.
