It is not uncommon for financial experts to transition to the cryptocurrency industry. In the case of Kahina van Dyke, she is making the opposite career switch.

From Ripple to Standard Chartered

Some people may recall the name Kahina van Dyke, as the is a former executive of Ripple and Facebook. van Dyke Was also one of the top 25 Women in Financial Technology. Her profile seems to match the vision Standard Chartered wants to embark one in the coming years.

During her tenure at Ripple, van Dyke served as SVP business and corporate development. During that stint, she has obtained a lot of insights regarding digital channels and data analytics. 

At Facebook, she was the global director of financial services and payments. This is well before the social network announced it wants to launch the Libra asset. Facebook has a history of payment options and experiments. 

Last but not least, van Dyke also spent many years working for Mastercard and Citigroup. She has a ton of financial expertise, but has also kept tabs on new technologies. The use of blockchain technology, big data, and new analytical tools are of great value for the future.

Strengthening the CCIB Team

van Dyke will now become the global head of digital channels and client data analytics at Corporate, Commercial, and Institutional Banking, or CCIB. This is a sub-division of Standard Chartered. One could say that CCIB is the "corporate bank" arm of Standard chartered in this day and age.
