Chairman of the Exchange Association in Iran: Cryptocurrency Transactions Still Illegal


 Chairman of the Exchange Association in Iran said: The Central Bank has not yet issued any license for buying and selling digital currency.

According to local news agencies, Kamran Soltanizadeh, Chairman of the Exchange Association, about the activities of exchange websites in buying and selling digital currency said: So far, the central bank has not issued any license for cryptocurrency exchanges, and those who work in this field are in violation because they do not have an official license.

He continued: "According to the decision of the Cabinet of the Islamic Republic of Iran, miners can mine cryptocurrency, but no instructions regarding the buying and selling of bitcoins have been announced yet and there is no legal process going on."

He also stated: “Meetings have been held to develop instructions for cryptocurrencies transactions, and we have also expressed our opinions, but so far no instructions have been issued in this regard and engaging in foreign exchange transactions, whether on the internet or through money exchangers, is illegal and violators will be dealt with.
