Over the past two years, cryptocurrency ransomware hackers have increased the average ransom amount by 200%. This is stated in the report of the company Crypsis Group.

In 2019, the average buyback amounted to $ 115,123. The median amount has increased by 300% since the first quarter of 2018 and reached $ 21,700.

The growth dynamics of the median repurchase amount in 2018 and 2019.

According to analysts, hackers increasingly began to attack enterprises and focus on the most affluent victims. Once, hackers demanded $ 15 million from a company that provides data center services and other technological solutions.

Crypsis emphasized that approximately half of the attacks are implemented using the Remote Desktop Protocol ( RDP ). It allows you to connect to remote devices based on Windows. When configured improperly, RDP can open up great opportunities for attackers.

Attacks implemented through social engineering, such as phishing, are also very popular.

The report also says that ransomware viruses most often affected health organizations - 22% of cases and industrial enterprises (13%).

Recall that in May, Europe's largest network of private clinics was attacked by the Snake virus.
