I know I know, this has to be clickbait no? Well, not really. For those who clicked immediately worrying and asking themselves "how the hell?" I promise there actually has been a case of brain damage caused by Bitcoin. Well, Bitcoin mining to be exact. You see, back in them olden days when people just started mining Bitcoin, they weren't nearly as advanced as they are today and the rewards were much, much higher. Well, in terms of the amount of Bitcoin you got, not necessarily the monetary value. As a matter of fact, back then you could barely spend the Bitcoins anywhere as almost no one had heard of it, but you could essentially stack whole Bitcoins by using your electricity and PC at home without actually having to buy any.
Instead of me ranting on about hows and whys let's hear it from the man himself:

So, what happened and could it happen again? Well, crucial factor here is that it was summer and there was a heatwave going on where he lived. So that, in combination with him mining Bitcoin with several PCs in his room to maximize his coins without properly hydrating himself (drink enough water), slowly but surely caused him to have a heatstroke in his sleep as his room temperature was above 40 degrees Celsius for several days prior to him getting admitted. After recovery, he unfortunately heard from doctors that the heatstroke had permanently damaged his brain and he then decided to give up on Bitcoin mining permanently.
Now, this is what some might call a freak accident with several crucial factors happening all at once that led to the disaster, but should we all now just sell our Bitcoin and never mine any crypto ever again? Well, certain articles published in the aftermath of this incident sure did think so.
Oh and the author is still around today slandering Bitcoin and people who ask her to explain her nutjob claims😂
