Once upon a time there was a man who was elected president of America and freed the slaves. This man's name, of Course, was Abraham Lincoln! This man's political carrier is well known: But some might not know in his personal life, he was an avid farmer! This makes sense, when you think about the commonly known fact that President Lincoln was born in a log cabin. According to a letter from Lincoln to the Hohner Harmonica Company "Two of my favorite things are sitting on my front porch smoking a pipe of sweet hemp, and playing my Hohner harmonica." The authenticity of this letter is in doubt by some, but there was no laws against hemp or cannabis back then: It was commonly grown and Abraham Lincoln was a farmer. However, hemp was also grown for rope, oil and other industrials. Did our president really "smoke sweet hemp" and was hemp grown at the white house? Probably not. But the legends about hemp are based on true stories. Lincoln probably was involved with growing hemp and other cash crops, at least as a young farm hand.
Even more likely is the involvement of First American President George Washington and the hemp plant. Many don't realize that George Washington actually kept detailed notes on his farming activities. George Washington actually believed Farming was more important than politics! Agriculture is the most healthful, most useful and most noble employment of man”. Suddenly, the idea of a story about a young George cutting down a cherry tree makes more sense! The story of him not telling a lie is a myth, but the story of Mr. Washington smoking hemp to sooth the pain of his false teeth is most likely true.

Medical Hemp for consumption has come a long way since the days of hemp rope and oil being produced across America in the early years. Many have walked into George Washington's footsteps and carefully bred Hemp strains to have high quality, sinsemilla Cbd flowers. Fast forward to 2023, where a quick click of a computer mouse has a package arriving a few days later with some of the finest Hemp [Cbd] genetics. Two strains arrived, 88 and Kush.
I am growing my plants without any synthetic foods etc. It's mostly just compost! I also added some manure and worm castings. Previously I have added honey, mycelium and other great soil amenities! When the Hemp plants get larger, I will use stress training: Tying down the plants and using a Scrog [fencing]. I have to water carefully, it's dry and hot where the Hemp is growing. The long, dry summers are great for the flowering stage though! Then, the plants will get chopped down, dried and cured in jars.
I picked the 88 strain because when I looked at random photographs, this strain looked the best for outdoors. Thick buds that were full of cbd crystals glistening in the sunlight. A giant, outdoor plant with "indoor quality".

The other strain that is currently being grown is the "Hemp Kush". This strain I have re-ordered many times in the form of flower. It's the highest quality Cbd flower I have tried, especially when it comes to terpenes [flavors]. Hemp Kush has that classic skunky smell that will penetrate any container that isn't factory sealed. It also has very thick buds, which I prefer [even if it increases risk of mold, mildew etc.]. Hemp Kush also has a high Cbd content. This strain is probably my favorite Hemp/Cbd strain I have ever sampled.
