For this weeks entry for the splinterlands share your battle we can enjoy the Death splinter!
The Death splinter is my go to splinter for mana battles lower than 16, because it consists of a lot of low mana monsters with different attacks and abilities. And the Carrion Shade fits nicely because of its 1 mana cost.

Carrion Shade
A carrion shade is a dark-winged bird that feeds off of the dead bodies of animals and people. They often flock to battlefields and dangerous parts of the wilderness where there are sure to be corpses. They travel in small groups and have no natural predators. Most people fear the carrion shades, though. For to see a group following you is to know your life is in danger. Tales whispered by the elder wise women claim that if you see a single carrion shade perched outside your home, then someone you love will die that night.

Pro's
- Very low mana cost
- Flying (@level 3)
Con's
- Only 1 attack
- Low health
Whenever i am playing with the Death splinter, i am adding the Carrion Shade to my team 9 out of 10 times. This because it only costs 1 mana, and can be used to attract the attack of opportunity monsters or when you use a level 3 card as a closer with its flying ability.

Tactics
Because of the low mana cap for this game, which i definitely like, i normally start with the Cursed Windeku as a tank because of its thorn ability. In this case this left me with 4 mana, which i used for the Carrion Shade and Death Elemental. I picked the Carrion Shade to be a decoy in the middle so that the Death elemental would be spared in the first round if my opponent had any snipe monsters. This in combination with the buffs of the summoner and the Death Elementals higher speed, would give me a head start in taking out magic monsters of my opponent if they would use any.

Round 1

Upon entering the battle, i saw that my choice of cards was good. Because of the buffs of the summoners, the Khmer Princess would only have 1 live left, meaning it would be an instant kill by the Death elemental. Why my opponent chose the put the Mycelic Morphoid in tank position is beyond me, but it would mean a kill on contact because of the thorn ability of my tank.
After taking out these 2 only the Unicorn Mustang was left, which could potentially wipe out my team if my tank should stumble on a miss.
Round 2

My tank nor my opponents tank had a miss, resulting in some damage on both sides. And because of the Void ability of the Unicorn Mustang, it could not be damaged by my Death Elemental. And this is how we entered the third and final round of this battle.
Round 3

In the third round the Unicorn Mustang could attack first, but also took a hit from the Thorns. This meant that my Cursed Windeku could do one more hit, leaving the Mustang with only 1 life left.
Round 4

In the final round, the Unicorn Mustang stroke first, taking out my Tank and himself, ending the battle in a win for me.

Conclusion
This tactic worked out great against my opponent. If there was a miss from my side, the Carrion Shade in 2nd line should have been able to take out tank.
I hope you enjoyed my entry for this weeks battle, and hope to see you in the next!
