Personal preference: debit or credit card?

When we talk about financial preferences, we know that this taste is the same as many others, depending solely on what each individual thinks or thinks is best for him. Therefore, the point of this post is to cover, without commitment, which way do you most often use your card when making a purchase: with debit or credit?

Starting with myself, I can explain that the method I use most is debit, as I prefer to know how much I will spend at the moment and with that how much is left in my wallet to be able to use it during the rest of the month. I feel that my control is greater using it this way, because as the days go by and the bills are paid, I can already understand in real time how much is left and how much I can still spend.

I know that using a credit card has its advantages, such as points programs that you accumulate and exchange for something. I confess that I have never used such a system, despite having some points, I have not reached the minimum of anything interesting to be able to use it.

Another fear I have about using credit is not keeping an eye on the amount of the invoice, and as my resource will still be in my account, having the false feeling that I have a very positive balance and, at the end of the month, having a rather unpleasant surprise.

Therefore, I prefer to think of the use of credit as a bitter emergency exit, but, in case it is really necessary, it is there to be able to use it and save me from a complicated situation. In any case, I always avoid using my credit card, although for some accounts I have no escape, such as, for example, streaming subscription services and my car insurance.

Finally, for these reasons, I prefer to make my card purchases using debit, as I feel that I have greater security and control and at the end of the month, I avoid any problems regarding an invoice with an absurd amount and that I cannot pay.
