Too long I’ve to wait,
For your offer of marriage;
But you procrastinate,
Though we’re getting on in age.
Will you ever be ready
To pop the question?
Want to be more than your steady,
I’d like a wife’s position.
Beg you; I’m not going to do.
It’s your loss and not mine.
Go slow, if you want to,
Another groom, I can easily find.
No warning, you can’t accuse ----
You’ve only yourself to blame.
To be late is no excuse,
If it happens, what a crying shame!
