Nietzsche
“Here one must think profoundly to the very basis and resist all sentimental weakness: life itself is essentially appropriation, injury, conquest of the strange and weak, suppression, severity, obtrusion of peculiar forms, incorporation, and at the least, putting it mildest, exploitation” Nietzsche
“The noble type of man regards himself as a determiner of values;
he does not require to be approved of. . . he is a creator of values” Nietzsche
If one is not the creator of their own values they are but a cog in the machine.
To create your own values is to follow consciousness
To follow consciousness is to first unlock ones willpower.
To break free off societal values, systems and restrictions
To use intuition and gut feeling
To follow consciousness is to reach forward in time at a point where you want to be & be pulled there
When Nietzsche declared that god is dead he declared that the systems of morality and the structure it provided was dead.
But along with this declaration came a philosophy of nihilism, materialism and a new religion of science. Systems of morality found within the state that were before built from religious morality up now instigated their own determined values from the top down. This was easily done because it was now easy to criticise religion
Religion used to be born out of divinity, a cultivation and expression of religious experience turned into mythological expression to try to help us understand that which is divine in the universe. But somewhere along the way ideas got confused,
Religion became its own entity. It became a practice, a political tool, and a weapon. Through These changes, divinity was lost in religion. Religion went through structural transition after transition until finally when Nietzsche recognised that any structure had been dissolved completely he declared religion dead. It had in fact been turned upside down. Religion somehow has been placed as the building block to divinity, this is to say that to experience divinity, one must first follow religion. With this, the separation of the two were finally complete. Theists like Richard Dawkins thus no need no longer argue from a phenomenological basis as to why there is no divinity in the universe. They merely need to disprove the metaphorical thinking that religion had last left us with.
Thus with the idea of phenomenological experience in search for divinity abolished from the world view and morality now being governed from the top down, Humans and society were started to be grouped together as a unit. Grown as a collective,
The goal and meaning of individual life no longer lie in individual development but in the policy of the moral decision as to how he should live his own life, and instead is ruled fed, clothed and educated as a social unit. And even amused to the social standard Such one sidedness is always compensated psychologically by unconscious subversive tendencies. Slavery and rebellion. Rivalry for power and exaggerated distrust pervade the entire organism from top to bottom. People such as this are referred to as creeds.
The same goes for what is left of religion, religion takes away any need for self-thought and lays out a doctrine for us on how we should be a sort of statistical average on its own, Comparatively the state is a religion of its own, that most people ascribe to the life of the individual is not determined solely by the ego and its opinions, or by social factors, but quite as much By a transcendent authority just as man cannot in the long run exist without a tie to the community, so the individual will never find real justification for his existence, and his own spiritual and moral autonomy. The comparison of the state and their false promises are no different to the religious promise of an afterlife.
By basing all your morals and values on what is accepted in the state system takes away from your journey of self discovery. Who you are and who you should be is already dictated by the state average. This however reduces the standard of the state, which is a negative loop, for as the lack of self discovery goes on, the chance of the individuals being indoctrinated increases. Through this indoctrination of the state there is also no journey of self discovery and thus no scientific inquiry into consciousness or perhaps more importantly into the unconscious. If however the individual dominates our field of vision then we can enable scientific enquiry into what for some is considered the dark parts of our psyche.
Nietzsche did not just declare the death of God, but the death of the individual.
To regain one's individuality is to first regain a true sense of what it means to have consciousness, the study of the self should once again become an individual's priority.
I have a literary story and philosophical exploration of this coming out soon
