Why I Like Polygon Labs' Response to the SEC

By Bfab | Good vibes | 11 Jun 2023

As you all probably know, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recently declared MATIC, the native token of the Polygon network, a security. However, amidst the uncertainty and concern, Polygon Labs, the team behind Polygon, responded with a tweet that resonated with me on a personal level:

What I like in this tweet is that they dare to say that "The non-US market is the largest in the world". Although it is not really a scoop, it is a good reminder to the US and the rest of the world. They show the way to other crypto projects, which can forget the US now and focus on the rest of the world. It is likely that some other cryptos declared securities that still have their teams in the US, like Solana for instance, will also move out of the US in order to break free...

In summary, Polygon Labs show us the way, and, by declaring MATIC and other cryptos securities, the US are excluding themselves from the crypto world, which cannot really be considered independently from the promising blockchain technology, that is also linked to AI... So, kudos to Polygon Labs for this smart response, and good luck to America for the coming years!
