My Best Decentralized Exchanges - Part #2: EVM Chains

By Bfab | Good vibes | 18 Jan 2023

Using DEX (Decentralized Exchanges) allows to swap directly from your self-custody wallet in order to avoid the risks that are inherent to centralized exchanges like Binance... Or FTX.

Last time we reviewed Ethereum & L2s DEX and showed the best options to swap cheaply.

Some EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) compatible blockchains also allow to swap in the same way, with even lower fees... Let's go.

Avalanche (AVAX) chain

By using DefiLlama meta-DEX aggregator, we can find the best trades to sell AVAX:

ParaSwap is the best option, although YieldYack and KyberSwap are pretty close.

Aurora (AURORA) chain

Aurora is the EVM chain built on top of NEAR protocol. It can be a good option if you believe in NEAR and want to access it via MetaMask. Let's try to swap 10 NEAR for USDC:

OpenOcean is the best option due to gas fees, although KyberSwap is again pretty close.

Polygon (MATIC) chain

Polygon is a sidechain of Ethereum, with gas fees much lower than on Ethereum mainnet and lower than on most of the other EVMs:

ParaSwap is the best option due to gas fees, although OpenOcean & KyberSwap are close.

In summary, the best options are usually ParaSwap and OpenOcean, although KyberSwap is always close.
