The Ethereum Merge is the main crypto event of the year. With the "Buy Rumors, Sell The News" principle, you are trying to desperately guess when it is the right time to buy or sell it. Let's assume that you bought a few ETH. You have three options:
1) HODL till The Merge, hoping everything will be ok...
2) Sell it now, thinking that the "Sell The News has started".
3) Use your ETH in DeFi protocols in order to earn swap fees.
If you do not truly believe in your trader skills, then you will be interested in the third option. The question is: How much can you earn through DeFi?

A safer option could be to use Binance liquid swap, which offers lower APYs but directly on Binance:
As you can see, the yields are lower than through real DeFi protocols, but there are advantages: 1) If you use ETH/BUSD pool, you can currently swap ETH for BUSD with zero fees; 2) These liquid swaps are guaranteed by Binance; 3) Binance "will refund users affected by a fork of the Ethereum chain"...
The right strategy depends on your acceptable risk/reward ratio: Earn high APYs on DeFi protocols like Alpaca with risks; or lower APYs through Binance.
