Hey all!

In my last post, I jumped in with a few of my thoughts on Tezos and XTZ with the central theme of why they're valuable. Now I'd just like to make a quick addition to that line of reasoning. 

XTZ's usage is in staking(baking) and then voting. That's the gist of it. 

So, when I say that XTZ's value is likely growing because of an overall increase in users of the Tezos network, I fully stand by it. With several exchanges staking(baking) on the network, however, it's important to remember that whales still have an outsized amount of influence on what the future of Tezos holds.

Contrary to some publications that take this to mean Tezos does not have decentralized governance, I'm convinced that even so, its system still works.

Why, you might ask?

It all comes down to the fact that bakers depend on average users for their income as well as maintaining their status. If you don't like the way a baker is voting, then pull your stake from its service and head to another. 

Your delegation has power. 

Use it.

Yes, it's not a perfect system but nothing is. What Tezos has going for it that other blockchain networks don't is its fully on-chain governance. I hope that over time, this results in some sort of update that makes baking even more accessible as it is now, though I admit that at this point, I don't know how that would play out.

It goes without saying that these are my novice opinions on Tezos based on my research on the network so far. I always welcome more knowledge to improve my takes. 

I believe in continuous learning and live by that idea.

Furthermore, I know I said that next, we'd take a trip with Augur and discuss how it could change financial markets for the better. This, however, couldn't be helped. So much is happening with Tezos and XTZ, I'm trying to post on it whenever I can.
