Joe and Ahmad are such talented models, and they are posing for several groups and events while the co-quarantine, so I was able to draw them again today. This workshop was hosted by the 2B or Not 2B Collective, in England. It was mostly fast poses, starting with several 2-minute poses, a few 5-minutes, and a few longer ones.
After the first few 2-minute poses I was able to capture enough shape and information to go back and revise later, so I am actually really happy with the drawings I made today, even a few of the very short poses. I took the time after the workshop to go over most of them with colors, add shading and detail, erase stray line, etc.
Here are the longer poses, starting with my favorite of the day, a 25-minute pose:
The guys are so relaxed and affectionate and it makes me so happy.
Here's a 20-minute pose:
For these longer poses, the guys were sitting on a sofa, and in this one Ahmad was sitting on the left sofa arm while Joe reclined against the right sofa arm. I decided not to mess around drawing the sofa itself.
I believe this next one was 15 minutes, but it could have been 10 or 20. In practice I spent at least another 10 or 15 minutes after the workshop ended.
This one also came out quite well, I think. I decided not to risk faces though haha. I actually kind of like the way they look with just whiskers. Here Ahmad was sitting on the back of the sofa sort of behind Joe.
Here's a 10-minute poses, which, again, I revised with colors and shading etc later:
And some 5-minute poses - For these, the guys were standing in a small hallway, using the walls to prop themselves in various ways:
This one was confusing enough that I decided to add lines defining the space so you could see that Ahmad wasn't trying to kick Joe in the head.
And finally, here is what I managed to pull out of the best of my two-minute sketches:
A lot less detail in this one, naturally, but I am pretty happy with the overall shapes and proportions.
I may try to catch these guys a third time if I can. They are a great pleasure to draw.
