Inktober Day 3: Bulky

By DoctorPlatypus | Doctor Platypus | 3 Oct 2020

You remember being a kid and you'd see someone draw something cool and you'd say "hey how do you do that!" and they would say "well, it's all just circles and rectangles, and then you smudge it up a little" and they'd try to show you but it was obviously nonsense and you'd get frustrated and go watch cartoons? Yeah I hated that.

Today's #inktober prompt was "Bulky". I thought about bulky yarn and bulky sweaters and even bulkie rolls, but who am I kidding?

Here's today's drawing. It's all circles and rectangles, and I smudged it up a little.
:-D

Arm and chest of muscular man, Drawing in pencil

As always, room to improve, and in this case, I know exactly how to fix it and that the fix will make a real difference. The abdominal muscles should stack parallel to the line of the pectoral muscle nearest the arm. that is, I need to angle the bottom ab substantially rightward. Let me do that now.

I love that making such small changes can make such a big difference. I made some additional small tweaks to shading, but for real so small!

Still lots of work to do, lots of room for improvement, but I am having so much fun learning to do this!

Thanks for looking :D
