Art of the DJ: 'Turntablism' What is it?

The Art of Turntablism
Turntablism is the art of manipulating sounds and creating new music, sound effects, mixes, and other creative sounds and beats, typically by using two or more turntables and a cross fader-equipped DJ mixer.

Also, Scratching, sometimes referred to as scrubbing, is a DJ and turntablist technique of moving a vinyl record back and forth on a turntable to produce percussive or rhythmic sounds. A crossfader on a DJ mixer may be used to fade between two records simultaneously.

Scratching was invented by Grand Wizzard Theodore and by mistake which led to a whole Turntablist culture afterwards, Theodore Livingston (born March 5, 1963), better known as Grand Wizzard Theodore, is an American hip hop DJ. He is widely credited as the inventor of the scratching technique.

Here's a little freestyle showcase I dropped as a guest judge 2 weeks back at the @skratcherdubai community meetup and battle. It was great to see community skratch DJ's come together to jam, share knowledge and battle!

Kudos once again to Skratcher Dubai for keeping the culture alive in the Middle East region and Salute to the homie @marcellteif for hooking me up with that dope boom bap! Extended shoutout and Kudos to DJ FrcZ on the video capture.
