Singapore has limited land space, so we need to think of ingenious ways to engage in farming activities. Especially since the authorities have ambitious plans such as the following:

Recently, my school installed a vertical tower system so that we could circumvent the problem of land scarcity. It also afforded students the opportunity to immerse themselves in farming without getting their hands too dirty:

On 18 June, the school admin staff transplanted 65 seedlings of bayam, lettuce and xiao bai cai each. Today, on 8 July, my students got to harvest the vegetables.
Faster growth than I had expected. The school intends to donate these vegetables to a community partner known as Food From the Heart. It would be cool if my school could upscale its operations and produce enough vegetables to support our immediate neighbours.
