Blockchain based games bring the best of both worlds...games and money. So even if you're "only" a gamer or "only" a crypto enthusiast you want to do yourself a favor and look into some dapps. I'm going to cover a couple popular games and how you can earn more eth with them. Some games take longer than others to make a profit but I will link to each of the games so that you can do your own research as well.
0xUniverse
You might be familiar with the 0x crypto currency but this game is not related at all. Just happens to have a similar name. The basis of this game is to invent rocket ships and launch those ships to find planets throughout the universe. Planets have different types of resources on them and the rairty of the resources affect the rarity level of the planets you find (common, rare, epic, legendary).
The planets will accrue more resources and population everyday. Once you get enough population you can invent a new spaceship. As you continue to invent spaceships theres a chance they can be more powerful. The more powerful ships can travel further within the universe and have a better chance at finding rarer planets.
This is the current setup of the game: invent more spaceships, launch them to find more planets, and keep accruing resources. Eventually they are launching a corporations update that allows players to team up and try to take over sectors throughout the universe.
How do you earn ETH with 0xUniverse?
Earning Ethereum is pretty easy with this game. There is a marketplace for the planets. People need certain resources to launch their planets, or they need more population to speed up their next ship invention. You can sell some of the planets that you find for profits. Since you can launch your ships for about $0.05, it only takes 1 or 2 sales to fund your account and the rest can be profits.

CryptoPioneers
CryptoPioneers is a SimCity type game. You buy land and collect resources so that you can build buildings. As you build more advanced buildings, this enables you to be able to build better resources. For example you collect wood from trees and then you need to build a lumbermill to create wood planks.
As you keep advancing you will need to move into new "ages". Recently Iron age was launched. Once you move into the iron age you can build even more advanced buildings and collect better resources.
How do you earn ETH with CryptoPioneers
There's actually quite a few ways that you can make Ethereum in this game. Let me break them down as simply as possible:
1) Be an Island Owner. From time to time islands are put up for sale and you can control the price of the land for sale on that particular island. Island owners get a percantage of all the sales on their island.
2) Sell resources on the marketplace. Similar to 0xUniverse there is a marketplace that you can sell any of your resources or land plots on. Just make sure you sell for more than you paid!
3) Stake your renown. For every action in CryptoPioneers you earn Renown, which is essentially a way of showing the most active players. You can "stake" the renown to collect a portion of the global funds. A certain percentage of all Eth spent goes into a global pot. 2/3 of that pot is given away to all renown stakers.
4) Enter the rewnown lottery. The other 1/3 of the global funds are part of a weekly lottery. You can spend 50 renown to enter the lottery and the lucky winner takes home all of the lottery funds that week.

Axie Infinity
Axie Infinity in a collectible type game. You buy, sell and collect fantasy creatures called Axies. Once you have 3 axies you can form a team and battle them to earn experience. You can only battle an axie 3 times in a 12 hour period.
Once your axies have enough experience they are able to breed with another axie. The new axie from the breed will inherit traits from its parents. These traits will affect their appearance and how well they do in battles.
You want to keep battling all of your new Axies and breed them to increase your Axie inventory.
How do you earn Eth with Axie Infinity?
Sell your axies on the marketplace! The Axie marketplace is very active and can be very lucrative. If you can get breed a very good axie for battles it can be worth up to 1 ETH. It might take a little bit of time to get the traits you want but it pays off in the long run.
