Today, April 5th, is the anniversary of the deaths of both Layne Staley and Kurt Cobain

Layne Staley is remembered most as the former lead singer of the band Alice in Chains.

Layne died on April 5th, 2002 at the age of 34 from a "speedball" overdose exasperated by the self-neglect of his health, very likely stemming from depression and a broken heart after the death of his fiance.

Kurt Cobain is remembered as the lead singer and guitarist of the band Nirvana.

Kurt died on April 5th, 1994 at the age of 27 from a self-inflicted gunshot to the head, very likely choosing to do so after feeling as though he was about to lose his wife and daughter.

A short somber post today, but let's remember them for the music they have given us and not for their unfortunate early deaths.

Thank you for reading!
