The Rise of AI-Powered Phishing - How to Spot New Attacks

In today’s digital age, cybercriminals are leveraging AI to craft more convincing phishing scams. Recently, I encountered a sophisticated phishing attempt that underscores the growing threat of AI-powered fraud. Here’s what you need to know to protect yourself.

The phishing email I received included detailed information about my career, likely scraped from my LinkedIn profile or other open sources. This level of personalization makes the scam more believable.

The email introduced a headhunter from a non-existent company, complete with a well-crafted call to action. However, a quick Google and LinkedIn search revealed no such profile or company. The accompanying website featured AI-generated images and content, further adding to the illusion of legitimacy.

Watch as I go through the email and website, identifying the subtle and sometimes not so subtle signs of fraud.

It’s essential to stay informed and vigilant. Strengthen your cybersecurity measures and be cautious of unsolicited communications. Remember, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.
