Publis0x is one of the fastest-growing blogging platforms, with a vision to dethrone Medium.
Over the past 2 years of its existence, we have seen some really cool updates and new features such as the improved social share buttons, bookmark button, enhanced statistics page, followers view, Unpublishing post, blocking and managing blocked users, etc.
And I am sure there're many more cools features the team is working on to make life on this side of the internet much cooler.
In this post, I want to share some really cool features I think the team can consider implementing to make the platform even richer.
1. Import Post
One of the major problems some bloggers like me have is the problem of duplicate content.
Publish0x allows anyone to republish their content from their own website or any other blogging website for that matter on its platform.
This creates a duplicate content situation which is bad for the SEO of especially the website with lower authority.
On Medium for instance to address this issue and encourage members to share content from their website on the platform they have implemented the post-import functionality.
Using the import tool will automatically backdate the post to the original date, as well as add a canonical link to make sure your SEO won't be penalized.
What this means is that when you import an article from your website to Medium, Google does not count it as duplicate content as a link is attached to the post telling Google that all SEO benefits should be given to the original post from your website rather than the one on Medium.
2. Schedule Post
The ability to schedule posts for publishing will be a really handy and efficient feature for Publish0x authors.
Sometimes you want to release your articles at a particular time of the day when you believe your readers are mostly online and ready to consume that article you have spent so much time writing.
But then, due to time zone differences, you probably will not be awake to release your post at the desired time, thus minimizing your potential reach, engagement, or earning.
More so, how efficient will it be to be able to schedule multiple posts at different times of the day without having to return to the platform to hit that publish button?
3. Follow Blogs
Not too long ago, Publish0x made it possible for multiple authors to contribute to a single blog.
This was a nice move and it's time to take it a step further by making it possible for people to follow blogs.
This will work very similar to Medium Publications but better.
For example, one can build a multi-author niche blog that attracts much larger followership.
Authors that publish their work on this blog get greater exposure. Again very similar to the type of exposure you get when you get published by a Medium Publication.
As all followers of the blog will receive notifications for every post published by the blog.
These multi-author blogs will have their own specialized niche, post standards, formats, etc. that every author intending to get published there must observe.
This has several benefits such as:
- Brings together writers and readers with common interests.
- Give writers greater exposure
- Helps build a strong community of like-minds
PS: My use of the examples from Medium is mostly because they help to better illustrate the point I am trying to make and the practicality of the proposed feature.
