If you've read my previous posts, you already know I'm building a stack of passive crypto income streams — GoMining pays me Bitcoin daily for virtual mining rigs, Publish0x pays me to write, and GALA pays me for running a node. This time I want to go deep on another one of my daily-use apps: COIN App. Check out my Weekly videos HERE
Unlike GoMining or GALA, COIN doesn't ask you to buy hardware or lock up capital. It pays you for something you're already doing — moving around. Walking to the shop, cycling, commuting, driving for work — all of it can be turned into small, steady crypto rewards. I've been using it for a while now, and in this post I want to break down exactly how it works, what every feature actually does, which subscription plan makes sense for different lifestyles, and show you my own real collected numbers.
What Is COINAPP?
COINAPP is built by XY Labs, Inc. on top of the XYO Network — a project focused on decentralized, geospatial location data. XYO wants to build a global network of location proof, and it pays ordinary people to help generate and verify that data just by walking or driving around with the app open.
This puts COIN squarely in the DePIN category — Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks. You earn an in-app currency called COIN, redeemable for XYO, BTC, ETH, gift cards, sweepstakes entries, and more.

How Geomining Actually Works
The world map is divided into tiles (quadtiles), and each tile you physically visit can be "mined" for COIN. Key factors:
- Movement type — walking, running, cycling, driving all pay differently; driving is fastest
- Fresh tile vs. Remine — fresh tiles pay full reward; recently-mined "Remines" pay a small fixed amount
- SentinelX device — Bluetooth/NFC accessory that boosts rewards even on the free plan
- Subscription tier — Basic, Plus, or Pro
Background Rewards keep collecting for a few hours after you close the app.

The Main Features Explained
- 🪙 Geomines — core tile-tapping mechanic; occasional Big Geomine jackpots
- 🪂 Geodrops — gifts left by users/the app for others to pick up; social, gamified
- 📋 Surveys — earn COIN without moving, useful at a desk
- 🚩 Geoclaims — claim territory and earn a cut when others Geomine inside it
- 🎟️ Sweepstakes — free daily entry just for having the app installed
- 🏠 Home Base & SentinelX Sharing — earn from a fixed location others mine near
- 🎮 Mini-games — clear a Remined tile early
- 👥 Referrals — earn a percentage of what invited friends collect
Getting Started: Step by Step
- Download COIN App (iOS or Android) and create your account.
- Decide: SentinelX or no SentinelX. Order one early if you want the boost — it takes a while to arrive.
- Grant location permissions and enable Background Rewards.
- Do your first Geomine. Tap a nearby tile and let the reward bar fill.
- Explore the free features — try a Survey, send or collect a Geodrop, check for a Sweepstakes entry.
- Decide on a plan. Mostly stationary → Basic (+ SentinelX). Driving a lot → trial Plus or Pro for a month and compare.
- Redeem your first batch of COIN once you hit the minimum — the first redemption has a lower threshold than later ones.
My Real Numbers So Far

Geodrops have been my biggest source of COIN by far, ahead of straight Geomining — worth actively engaging with the drop/friend mechanics rather than just walking passively.
Subscription Plans: Basic vs Plus vs Pro
Feature Basic (Free) Plus ($24.95/mo) Pro ($34.95/mo) Geomining Rewards Multiplier 1x (12x with SentinelX) 24x 36x Speed & Recharge Rate 1x 2x 3x Chance of Big Geomines 1x 2x 3x Background Rewards Boost Base, 3-hr max 2x 3x Geodrop allowance Standard 2x 3x+ Geoclaim protection None Reduced impact Shield + matched rewards Sweepstakes redemption Every 2 weeks Weekly Weekly Redeem discount None Up to 10% Up to 10%
Money-saving tip: Plus and Pro are noticeably cheaper if you subscribe directly through the COIN App website instead of the Play Store or App Store. Apple and Google both take a cut of in-app purchases, and that markup gets passed on to you — so log in on desktop or mobile browser at my.coinapp.co and subscribe there instead.
Pro is where it gets interesting if you actually drive a lot. Delivery drivers, sales reps, couriers, long commuters — Pro's 36x multiplier plus fastest recharge means fresh tiles keep refreshing as you cover ground. It tends to pay for itself fastest simply because you're passively racking up mileage anyway. If you're mostly at a desk, Basic (with a SentinelX) is the smarter call.
Quick Wins: Clearing Tiles & Mini-Games
If you want a fast way to top up your COIN without waiting around, this is it. Clearing Remined tiles through the mini-games is one of the quickest ways to squeeze extra COIN out of the app in short bursts.
Instead of waiting for a Remined tile to naturally reset, you can jump into a mini-game and clear it early — takes a minute or two, and turns dead time into COIN.
Especially useful if:
- You're in a busy area where most nearby tiles are already Remined
- You've got a few spare minutes (coffee line, bus ride, work break)
- You're trying to cycle through tiles faster to stack up Big Geomine chances

It's a small mechanic, but it adds up — especially combined with Background Rewards running at the same time.
Redeeming Your COIN
Once you've built up a balance, COIN can be redeemed for:
- XYO (the underlying network token)
- BTC and ETH
- Gift cards and physical rewards through the in-app store
- Sweepstakes entries for bigger prizes
A word of caution from user reports: your first redemption has a low minimum threshold, but after that first cash-out, the minimum balance required for future redemptions jumps significantly. It's worth deciding on a strategy upfront — either redeem small amounts regularly, or hold out and let your balance build toward a bigger redemption, since the COIN-to-XYO exchange rate also fluctuates with the market.
My Withdrawal History
To back this up with real numbers, here's a slice of my own order history from redeeming COIN into XYO:
I was on the Pro plan for most of 2025, and it genuinely paid off during that stretch — I was driving a lot more for work at the time, so the higher multiplier and faster recharge rate on Pro meant I was constantly covering fresh tiles instead of sitting on Remines. That's really the pattern I'd point back to from the "which plan should I pick" section above: Pro earns its keep when your day-to-day already has you moving, and these withdrawals are the proof from my own account rather than just theory.

Pros and Cons
Pros: free to start, rewards activity you already do, multiple earning paths, background collection, legitimate DePIN backing.
Cons: small rewards on free tier, premium needs consistent use to pay off, some support complaints, volatile exchange rate, steep minimum jump after first redemption.
Want Another Passive Crypto Stream? Check Out GoMining
COIN App isn't the only passive crypto play I run day to day. GoMining is a cloud Bitcoin mining platform where you own virtual mining rigs and earn real BTC daily — no walking, no phone drain, just hashrate-based rewards ticking in regardless of where you are. COIN picks up the slack while you're out and about; GoMining earns in the background no matter what. They stack well together.

Final Thoughts
COIN App won't replace an income, but it converts time you're already spending in motion into a steady trickle of crypto. If you're mostly sitting still, Basic is enough. If you're on the road a lot for work, it's worth running the numbers on Pro.
