$2.2 trillion moved through TRON in just three months — and yet the token behind it keeps getting more plentiful, not scarcer.
That tension is what caught my attention in the new TRON DAO Research numbers for Q3 2026. Stablecoin settlements on the network reached about $2.21 trillion, up 5.1% from the previous quarter. Combined USDT and USDD balances rose 5.5% to about $93.9 billion. For millions of users in Asia and emerging markets, TRON is simply how dollars move.
Here is the catch I keep coming back to. TRX supply has grown for 108 straight days, from July 1 to October 16, adding about 148.6 million net new tokens. In Q3 alone the network issued about 360.2 million TRX and burned about 234.5 million. Burns are real, but they covered only about 63.5% of new issuance in early October.
Why does that happen? Users can pay network costs with staked resources instead of burning TRX, so heavy traffic does not automatically shrink supply. At the same time, block and voting rewards mint fresh TRX every day.
My own take: record usage proves the network has real demand, and that matters. But a holder is still being slowly diluted while issuance wins. TRX trades near $0.33, and for the price to outrun this headwind, either stablecoin growth has to stay very hot into Q4 or burns have to close a gap that would need to rise by more than half.
I will be watching that burn-versus-issuance number more than the headline settlement figure. The $2.2 trillion is impressive — the supply chart is the real test.
