A few days before Christmas, Rusty The Tipping Bot announced that he had given his last tip on read.cash once and for all.
Right now, everything depends on the tips that users are giving each other on a voluntary basis.
This raises the question if these are the final days of read.cash
Who Is Rusty The Bot?
The Random Rewarder was the beloved tipping bot on read.cash, a blogging platform with Bitcoin Cash integrated as a tipping option.
The bot started giving out tips to writers about two years ago and was funded by a man called Marc de Meselman. Since then, every writer on read.cash has been hoping for a visit from the Random Rewarder.
In his introduction post, the Random Rewarder is saying about himself:
“Well, if you want to know, I’m an Artificial Intelligence, specifically: Deep Learning Convolutional Neural Network that is used to rank users, articles and short posts and distributing tips according to the result.”
Users affectionately called him Rusty The Bot. However, I strongly feel that Rusty had not only been a bot. Behind the scenes, it must have also been Marc de Meselman himself.
Marc de Meselman is a generous man who funded the whole platform. In the beginning, he gave massive tips worth $10 or $1000 in Bitcoin Cash from his own personal account.
This stopped at one point, probably when he got in trouble with the authorities in Kenia. All of the sudden, Marc de Meselman stopped giving out tips and disappeared. At the same time, Rusty the Bot started to give out unusually high tips. This leads me to the conclusion that Marc de Meselman had at least access to the account of Rusty the Bot.
This has now come to an end. Rusty the Bot is gone and with him probably also Marc De Meselman with all his Bitcoin Cash.
Marc De Meselman Left The Party
It seems that Marc De Meselman has now officially left the read.cash party. In his last post, the Random Rewarder wrote that
“read.cash project has been created with a mission to popularize Bitcoin Cash. Unfortunately, it has failed to deliver on that promise.”
Well, I would strongly agree with that point but then he goes on by blaming the invention of AI writing. This sounds a little bit “random” to me.
I doubt that the invention of AI writing has anything to do with Marc De Meselmans decision to stop funding the platform. 100% of all donations came from Marc De Meselman and he stopped funding at all, in other words, there is no more free Bitcoin Cash coming from Marc de Meselman.

Maybe Marc de Meselman had simply realized that Bitcoin Cash may have once been a great currency that is no longer great.

The users are now on their own together with Simon, the talking head, who is maintaining the website right now. Simon is the same guy who made noise.cash, a ghost platform that is closing soon. The same can happen to read.cash anytime. It all depends on Simon and the users but to be honest, read.cash had always been a dull place and I doubt that is going to change.
I believe that read.cash is also closing down sooner or later because, in the end, the whole party does not depend on the cent tips from the users. It all depended on the big money that generously came from Marc de Meselman.
Don’t Say I Haven’t Told You
What’s happening right now is what I predicted more than a year ago in two articles and those of you who still want to call me FUDer for that can keep on doing that.
I will take that title with pride knowing that I had been right. Those of you who have missed the articles can still read them. They are worth a read:
