Splinterlands Winterfest - Modifier, Box and Skins!.jpg

Winterfest 2025 has arrived in Splinterlands. The first change players will notice is in the game's theme, with the implementation of a castle design in the middle of a snowy forest on the match screen. The event, which runs until December 31st, will feature a new modifier (Frostbite), new Loot Chests, and exclusive Winterfest skins. Come check it all out!

I'll be much appreaciated if you UpvoteReblogs or give any Tips ( PIZZA 🍕, PGM 🎮, LOLZ 😆, ALIVE ❤️, etc ). Thanks and have good reading! 🍀

[ENGLISH VERSION]

New Event Modifier - Frostbite

The first new feature of Winterfest 2025 is the addition of a new modifier called Frostbite. The conceptual idea behind this modifier is that, since the weather during Winterfest is very cold and full of snowstorms, those who venture out during this period run great risks, one of which is encountering "Frostbite" during matches.

This implementation of modifiers during the arrival of new events seems to me to be something that will be recurring and that players can already expect to happen because, if I'm not mistaken, this is the third time it has happened. One detail is that I couldn't find the appearance rate of this modifier, so it should happen in every match.

Going into the details of this modifier, its description indicates that all units in the match will have Weary, which is quite relevant to the event itself because during adverse weather conditions, units are more likely to be matched. This ability causes units to have a chance to become exhausted and not attack, and during this modifier, the unit that does not attack will suffer 2 true damage.

One way to counter and use the modifier to your advantage is by using units with high speed and good HP, because even if they stop attacking, they can still dodge and defend against attacks. It's good to use monsters that deal area damage since the modifier can deal 2 damage to multiple opponents at once.

Winterfest Loot Chests

The second new feature of the Winterfest update is a change to the Loot Chests, which should remain until the end of the event. The prices remain the same: 500, 2500, and 10000 glint for the minor, major, and ultimate chests. I believe the biggest difference is in the drop rates, with a 40% chance of getting a reward card, 4% for potions, 7.5% for scrolls… all the way to the jackpot, which also seems to have increased, with an 8% chance for the ultimate chest.

Winterfest “Festive” Skins

Another new feature that, like the modifier, has become a recurring theme during events are the commemorative skins related to the event taking place, ranging from common rarity costing 500 glint, to rare with 2.5k and epic costing 8k, and finally reaching the legendary skins at 20k glint.

This wide variety of options and prices allows even players who don't have a very high glint generation to at least have a chance to get one of the skins, which in this case are the Winterfest "festive" skins. This time we have 3 common skins, for Dread Tafarian, Phlegmor and Surgeblade, and also 2 rare skins for Careless Badger and Mindless Thrall for low-rank players.

Next, we have more "exclusive" skins: Tandi Janda as an epic skin and Azhar Ibn Sulaim and Sten Slatehelm as the two legendary skin options. These are more exclusive because it's not so trivial to get that amount of glint for a player who has just started in Splinterlands.

Among the skins I liked the most is Sten Slatehelm's because it looks like the Splinterlands version of Santa Claus due to the red hat and white beard, but it lacked the red outfit to really make it more defined; unfortunately, the outfit is green. One that I liked and should definitely add to my collection is the Festive Phlegmor skin, because he's a skime monster and in this skin he's devouring some very striking Christmas decorations, like the Christmas tree.
