Splinterlands - Abilities Damage and Counter.jpg

I believe this is the third week of the Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge on the theme of the new set that is coming to the Web3 Card Game, which is Conclave Arcana (#ConclaveArcana). It's interesting, because even though I've already done content on the subject, there's always some other subject that's worth exploring, which shows how much newness this presale and this new set are bringing to the nft game.

In a recent content, some possible skills and combos were addressed, the focus was on skills related to bloodline and also a specific Painforge combo with the Epic Cards from Rebellion Rewards. As there are still skills missing, we will address damage skills and counters that are possible to perform.

I'll be much appreaciated if you UpvoteReblogs or give any Tips ( PIZZA 🍕, PGM 🎮, LOLZ 😆, ALIVE ❤️, etc ). Thanks and have good reading! 🍀

New Arcane Conclave Abilities - Damage!

I believe that in the last content about new Arcane Conclave abilities I commented on the possible combo of Painforge with the reward cards from the Rebellion Rewards set, in which some cards cause negative effects or even damage to your allies and with that could serve as a trigger for Painforge.

Painforge, for those who don't know the ability yet, gives +1 power to the unit that has the ability and receives some type of damage from an ally or effects like Poison and Burning. One detail is that one of the new abilities, Reckless, causes each successful attack performed by the card that has this ability to cause damage to adjacent allies, which helps activate Painforge.

However, this ability goes further and can activate other effects that also depend on the death of an ally, not being restricted to just the combo with Painforge, but serving to activate, for example, the Martyr of cards like the Venari Marksrat, which when defeated - suffering damage greater than HP - give a bonus of +1 to all the stats of the allied units.

Another of the new abilities that has a damage-related nature is Relentless Strike. This skill causes real damage to opponents, meaning it is a great option to use in situations where the opponent can use a tank that has damage reduction, for example when only melee units can be used, it is expected that the opponent will use a tank with a shield, so a DPS with relentless strike is a good option.

Still, even if enemy units have Phase or Dodge, like Djinn Oshannus, this does not reduce the chance of hitting. I don't know if this could mean that Relentless Strike is an ability that guarantees that the Hit always hits or if it can get past any existing defense. This is a question that will only be resolved during battles, observing how the cards that have this ability will attack the opponents.

New Arcane Conclave Abilities - Counters!

In addition to the abilities focused on causing damage in some way, we also have the addition of some counter abilities. Adding cards that counter others is one of the ways that Splinterlands found to balance the game, without having to make changes to the cards' stats.

The first ability, Final Rest, is a direct counter to another new ability, Resurgence, since it prevents abilities that would be activated upon the death of an ally or enemy. But it will also serve to counter old abilities like Martyr himself.

The other ability added is Reveal, which is a direct counter to cards that have Camouflage, removing the “invisibility” of hidden cards once per turn and allowing them to be attacked.

These cards usually have a good attack and survive until the end of the game, but on the other hand they are fragile, so Reveal together with a Sneak will be a great combo to counter these cards that have Camouflage.
