We have a very special date for Splinterlands, which is its 7th anniversary. The game emerged as Steem Monsters in 2018, as one of the first games to use NFT and play to earn mechanics, then in 2019 there was a rebrand, where it began to be known as Splinterlands. So, let's talk a little about these 7 years of Splinterlands, exploring some points revealed in the CCN article and also talk about the Anniversary Challenge that Splinterlands did, which is very likely already over, but the intention here is to talk about how it was, what the prizes were and how it worked in general, so that players have an idea of how to participate next time. Find out everything now!
I'll be much appreaciated if you Upvote, Reblogs or give any Tips ( PIZZA 🍕, PGM 🎮, LOLZ 😆, ALIVE ❤️, etc ). Thanks and have good reading! 🍀
[ENGLISH VERSION]
7 Years of Splinterlands!
Splinterlands is one of the few NFT games that have managed to stand the test of time, going through bullish periods, but also bearish ones. The game began with its creators seeking to use the benefits of blockchain to reward players with tokens for their time and allow real ownership of cards in the form of NFTs, something that did not happen in the Web2 scenario, where companies owned all the items that players owned.
I believe that the main reason the game has “survived” was the solid community that the game has formed over the years. There are currently around 5,000 very active players in Splinterlands who truly enjoy the game for what it is and not just for the rewards. In one of the posts made by Splinterlands on the subject, they make it clear that the construction of the entire ecosystem was due to the players, who are creators and dreamers who actively participated in the game every day, giving this period the name “Age of The Chase.”
This date is so important that CCN made a special article about the 7 years of this great web3 TCG called Splinterlands. In it, the author revealed some very interesting information, which is worth reflecting on. The first is about Splinterlands' achievements. In 2025, there were more than 55,000 battles per day on average, with more than 1 million cards sold on the market, with a volume reaching more than $1.7 million. Furthermore, this month alone, the sale of its new Conclave Arcana set has already generated more than $2.8 million in revenue, part of which goes to the DAO and will return to players in the future. This shows the strength of Splinterlands and its economic model based on the sale of new sets that drives demand for its DEC token to keep it at PEG.
The second interesting point is the resilience of Splinterlands, which in a market where 99% of web3 games failed to start or closed was one of the few games that continued to build and stay active. On this subject, we recently had Nyan Heroes, which even had an airdrop, and Ember Sword, which announced its closure. Both games were in development but are struggling with the issue of having to close the game. In the case of Ember Sword, the Splinterlands team itself made a post about it, because they know that the closure of a web3 game negatively impacts the entire scenario.
Splinterlands Events: Anniversary Challenge!
To celebrate the 7th anniversary of Splinterlands, the web3 card game that has stood the test of time, one of the Splinterlands team members has announced an anniversary challenge called “LUCKY SEVENS”. In it, the first 7 players to win a ranked battle using a team made up entirely of 7-mana cards in a battle with a mana cap greater than 49 - even to be able to use all 7-mana cards - would be eligible.
However, it was not enough to just win the match, it would be necessary to send a screenshot of the victory screen, with the link to the battle you won, along with the phrase “LUCKY SEVENS”, all of this in a “Challenge Room” on discord or as a comment on the official post on X. By doing this, the first 7 will receive 1x Conclave Arcana Legendary Pack, 2x Standard Packs and for those who win in wild mode, 1x Alchemy Pack.
As already mentioned, it is very likely that the event has already ended and will no longer award prizes, since it had a limit of rewarding only the first 7 players, but the idea of understanding how it works is because there are some similar events that require some type of card configuration and rules published on Splinterlands X. So, knowing what needs to be done, just follow the official Splinterlands account on X and meet the requirements proposed at each event.
