Did you know that you can potentially "mine" one of 97 coins and tokens with UnMineable.com, using your computer's CPU or GPU (or both)?
Today, while looking for Solana (SOL) faucets, I came across UnMineable, a site which I first encountered back when I first started mining Raptoreum (RTM). I've subsequently lost my recovery/seed phrase and data file for the Raptoreum wallet (and what little RTM I had at that point).
How it works is that you use XMRig with the ghostrider protocol for RTM (or other mining software with a different protocol) and whatever you make gets converted to the coins or tokens of your choice. So you could "mine" an "unmineable" cryptocurrency, such as TRON or one of the following:
- 1INCH
- AAVE
- ADA
- ALGO
- AVAX
- BAT
- BNB
- CAKE
- DOGE
- ETH
- RTM
- SOL
Unfortunately, the CPU in the old tower I have doesn't support the MSR modification for high hashrates (even when run as the superuser), so I'm getting hashrates averaging a hundred hashes per second. However, it is generating a small amount of RTM/SOL per hour, so I'm going to leave it running overnight to see what meagre earnings it can make while I sleep. (I don't pay for electricity or Internet connection, so even a little trickle over the course of months to years is probably worth it, IMO.)
UnderMined even has a wizard for generating a script to supply to whatever mining software you're using, which I find helpful. I suggest you check it out (and Raptoreum too) if you're looking to mine one of the above cryptocurrencies and have a beefy CPU and/or GPU. If you're going the RTM route, Flockpool is also pretty good for mining.
If you liked this article and want to send me some SOL (or "mine" some on my behalf), my address is 6e24mbmFYnTVLtfyMivGLoqxAHvC2r2tKMU89wc8wPhb
. To mine with XMRig, use the following in a script:
xmrig -a gr -o stratum+ssl://ghostrider.unmineable.com:443 -u SOL:6e24mbmFYnTVLtfyMivGLoqxAHvC2r2tKMU89wc8wPhb.unmineable_worker_solp0x -p x
