Predictions

Now for the most exciting part, as I go through the latest info regarding each team to make an attempt at predicting the results for this weekend. Remember this is just my fun analysis and should not be taken as advice or a guarantee.

Southampton - Aston Villa

This week's Friday night match should provide quite an exciting matchup. On paper this is a Villa win all day long, Southampton sold Villa their best striker in Danny Ings for £30m last summer. The performances would not make you believe that up till now. Hasenhuttl is building a team that is resilient, unpredictable,  and full of confidence. The Saints defence is not conceding nearly as much as Villa are, which is what makes this such an interesting match up. Dean Smith is having a terrible time trying to settle Villa into a cohesive unit, for all their investment they sit three points above the relegation zone. I fear Smith is fighting for his job and losing. This game will be close but I expect Southampton to take the points, winning by a 2-1 margin.

Man Utd - Man City

If anybody expects Utd to win this one I would be seriously astounded. Sure form goes out the window for a derby game and Ole has a surprisingly good record against Pep, having beaten him 4 times, but I can't look past City. The reason for this is Utd were playing against a very average Spurs side, and got destroyed against Liverpool. Man City will tear the Utd backline apart and possibly score as many as Liverpool did. Varane will be missing, a huge blow, and while City can struggle against the counter-attacking style Utd have, I don't see it being a real contest. A final score of 1-3 is on the cards, with Ronaldo to add another goal to his collection, but ultimately being let down by the sub-standard players around him.

Brentford - Norwich

Another match-up between two of the newly promoted sides. Really is there much that needs to be said? Norwich are awful and I don't see them getting anything from this game barring a miracle. They are worse than the last time they were in the league, managing only 21 points that time. They will get much less this time around. Brentford will why they already have ten more points on the board than Norwich, and I expect them to win this encounter by a 2-0 scoreline.

Chelsea - Burnley

Perhaps it's a surprise to some, but Tuchel has created a formidable Chealsea unit in less time than most would expect. Sure heavy investment over the last two summers have helped, but the likes of Werner show that doesn't always work out. The fact Lukaku has been injured and missing, and Chelsea still sits top of the table really tells us something about the strength of character throughout this side. Their defence is resolute and is ensuring this team is seen as a real challenging opponent. Burnley for all their reputation as a difficult team to play, have only managed one win in fourteen Premier League games. This is not one they will expect to win, and I would imagine a 2-0 home victory is on the cards.

Crystal Palace - Wolves

This season Palace has really taken to their new manager's style. Viera has made them an attractive and exciting team to watch and play with progressive football. They remain in thirteenth in the table, with Wolves four points ahead. Wolves will be well aware their aging midfield star in Moutinho will have his work cut out against this Palace side, and the midfield battle could decide the outcome of this match. I would imagine it could end as a stalemate, and therefore I will back a 1-1 draw.

Brighton - Newcastle

A month or so after the takeover and things look as messy for Newcastle as ever. Four points so far, with only Norwich doing worse this season, shows just how precarious this club is. The richest side in the world and facing a real relegation battle. Emery decided to stick with his side battling in the Champions League, instead of taking on this challenge. It seems Howe will be the man for the job, but I don't see him attracting any superstar names to the club. Survival is the name of the game this season, with aims to challenge for European places a long way away. Graeme Potter will relish this fixture after the point at Liverpool and will have his team set up to outplay Newcastle all over the pitch. A score of 3-1 is what I expect for the Seagulls.

Arsenal - Watford

With Arsenal finding their form and not being hampered by Europa League or Conference football, Arteta is being given the time to train his players to get them to the standard he requires. They should be favorites at home to this Watford side. Ramsdale is looking solid in goal, while Ben White and Gabriel have started to make a real formidable defensive partnership. The press from Arsenal will tear Watford apart, as their team lacks the finesse or mobility to outplay Arsenal. Watford have Sarr for an outlet, who can damage any team, but outside of him are really out of their depths against this opponent. With all of this in mind, I expect a home victory of 3-1.

Everton - Tottenham

After the crazy first game under Antonio Conte, I am quite looking forward to this encounter. Everton seems to be losing that excellent form Rafa had them under with their counter-attacking style fading away and now becoming more disjointed. Three defeats in a row will not make for happy reading. The solace is that Spurs conceded two dodgy goals in midweek and Conte will only have a manner of days to get his message across to the Spurs squad. Rafa will hope his side can take advantage if they can get their attack to click. Conte will bring that attacking mentality to his side, making this an exciting match-up that will probably end with a 2-2 draw.

Leeds - Leicester

From having watched Rodgers at his time in Liverpool and then Celtic, it's no surprise his team struggles at the back. No clean sheets in nine games is an awful record. This match will therefore be wide open and end to end, with goals galore. Raphina is in fine form for Leeds and will be looking to impress ahead of the upcoming internationals. He has four goals in nine League games and will be eager to get more. This game will be tight and I think it could go either way, perhaps a moment of magic will decide it. Unless one team really outdoes the other, I would expect a final score of 3-3 in this match.

West Ham Utd - Liverpool

A contrasting week of European football for both of these sides, but amazingly enough the same end result for both. Liverpool, unlucky to lose Firmino to injury for at least the next month, showed they are one of if not the best team in Europe. The group of death and they are qualified top of the group with two games to spare. Klopp will be delighted, knowing he can rest key players in the final games with Porto and Milan. West Ham struggled to a draw in Belgium, coming from behind to lose the victory in the last 5 minutes. Will they care? Top of their group and qualified thanks to their head to head, West Ham will have football after Chrismas in Europe. As for this encounter, I expect the fact Liverpool are in such good form to play a key part here. The Reds will be counting on their explosive forwards to do the damage, and TAA is racking up the assists. Unless Liverpool falters as they did against Brighton and Brentford, I see them taking the three points with a very exciting 2-3 victory in London.

Have a great day and enjoy the games over the weekend.

Peace. CryptoGod-1.
