This Wallet Combo Feels Illegal

So I came across a strange trick. It is not a proper hack, and also it is not against the law I think, but it feels kind of like one.

The story starts with the Cwallet. I have myself advocated for it in my previous posts for the very reason that it has cheap swaps, almost suspicious in how cheap. Much better, they do swaps without requiring any gas at all. Yes, that’s right, I did swaps with ETH USDC on Ethereum to Solana without having ETH involved. Which is really mind-blowing, because on all other platforms you need to have some amount of network token. On Ethereum, if you want to use USDC, you need ETH for gas. On Solana, you have to have SOL. This is rule everywhere. Except with Cwallet.

More than one time this saved me. I sometimes get some random tokens from airdrops and random websites, very small quantities and it happens that I don’t have the extra ETH available to move them around. Because of this, Cwallet helped me avoid asking friends for gas fee, or bridging after opening like 5 browser tabs.

However, there is also the downside. Cwallet makes you pay a fixed rate of 0.55 for every transfer you make on Sol network.

Even when sending only 1usd worth of SOL, it is VERY expensive. This made me think deeper. If Cwallet offers cheap swaps and other platforms have lower sending fees, you can just separate the process. So I used my seed phrase from the Cwallet and imported it into the Phantom wallet. Instantly, it worked. Phantom accepted it immediately. No mistakes. Smooth process.

Here is now what I do:

Use the Cwallet for swaps
No need for gas, fees are low
Use Phantom to send Solana
Sending fees nearly none

Having this combo keeps saving me anytime I want to shift smaller amounts. No longer do I get the “please pay 0.003 ETH for this small $2 transaction” issue. This isn’t some expert advice. It’s just something nobody much says. It works well. If you’re short on cash, very careful about costs or hate losing money, maybe use it. Always keep your seed phrase safe.
