I am excited to share with you my journey as a crypto investor, blending it with my daily life experiences. As a full-time editor, I ventured into the world of crypto in 2020, right when the pandemic began. Like many others, I sought additional income streams while stuck at home. Initially, I cautiously tested the waters by investing only a small amount in Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Witnessing the market's fluctuations, I observed both exhilarating highs when the bulls dominated, and nerve-wracking lows when the bears took charge. As a newcomer, I was thrilled to see my coins surge but anxious when they dipped. Over time, I diligently learned the patterns of Bitcoin and Ethereum, understanding their varying speeds of movement.
Admittedly, I made some mistakes along the way, such as buying high and selling low, and investing in coins that performed poorly, particularly metaverse and layer-2 solution coins, when the market was predominantly red in 2022.
However, as the market recovered in 2023, so did my spirits. I adopted a more refined approach to my crypto strategy, creating two separate accounts: a trading account and a hodling account. The trading account allows me to secure profits above my initial investment, while the hodling account follows a dollar-cost averaging strategy where I invest in specific cryptocurrencies, namely Bitcoin and XRP, on a monthly basis.
Throughout this journey, I've learned crucial money management lessons, enabling me to allocate a portion of my income to crypto investing. I am grateful for my stable job and side income, which provide me with the means to invest wisely. Living within my means has been a guiding principle, reinforcing a sustainable approach to crypto investments.
As the crypto market evolves, I remain open to refining my strategies and learning from the PublishOx community and other investors.
