Free Algo

Tried and tested - Free Daily Algorand - part of my morning routine to receive free crypto

By kamikimms | Crypto Observer | 10 Jun 2021

The expression goes "mighty oaks from little acorns grow".

Every morning as I sip my coffee I go through a list of faucets (websites giving away small amounts of crypto). As I listen to the news and solve captchas little crypto dust hits my wallet. With today's market correction those little amounts land lower in fiat equivalents than they would have a month ago, but I keep in mind 1 crypto = 1 crypto (or in this case 0.0000001 = 0.0000001) and when the market turns those little acorns will also grow.

Let me share with you the first faucet in my morning routine.

Why do I like this?

  • I love Algo, I'm a big fan of staking (essentially gaining daily interest in my coins)
  • It takes less than 10 seconds to claim
  • The funds land pretty quickly (note: it seems this is a manual faucet, an Algo enthusiast has set up the site and is manually sending the funds. In comparison to the other faucets I use this is much slower (instant), but... there's something comforting knowing that a person is taking the time to give crypto. Typically todays claim will arrive either today or at the latest tomorrow

How to claim

  • Visit the URL https://algorandfaucet.com/ (this isn't an affiliate link)
  • Enter your Algo deposit address (the address you use to receive funds)
    • I personally used the official wallet Algorand Wallet - but any wallet that accepts Algo should work (you'll get rewards ontop of the amount you have in the wallet).
  • Important - you need to make sure you have a minimum amount  in there already (0.1 Algos which at today's rate is 0.100576 USD)
  • If you don't already have Algo in a wallet to cover this 0.1, this amount can easily be accumulated in other faucets, as time goes on I'll share more and more of my daily free claims routine so you too can try the same.
  • Solve the Captcha and hit submit
  • that's it :)

Faucets can be tedious, however this one in particular is very simple and takes less that 10 seconds to complete.

I'll be sharing you more other my daily faucet routines in the coming days.

Like many of you I entered the crypto market during the ATH (April 2021), and not too dissimilar to many it was the meme coin DOGE that brought me in. I am no longer a holder of DOGE but I am hooked! I have since diversified my modestly sized portfolio by setting aside a percentage of my pay check. I'll share my observations along the way, I have no shame in accepting my inexperience and learning from others, neither should you.
