Introduction
Before crypto and Satoshi Nakamoto, my greatest interest and hobby was F1 and motorsports. You name it, F1, Indycars, NASCAR, LeMan. Certainly not as a racing driver and certainly not by attending pricey motorsports events. The best that I could do back at 00s was to watch F1 Grand Prixs every single Sunday on FreeView television annoying my family during the Sunday lunch time. Still i was also reading the F1 news daily online and maintained a now abandoned motorsports-oriented blogSpot called racing-pistons.blogspot.com - possibly paving the way for my crypto publish0x creative writing skills that I have discovered by expressing my opinion about the crypto ecosystem on this platform. The only event that I have ever attended in person back in 2010 was a local Monster Trucks & Jeep Trials event for the Greek Trials Championship.
Since the glorious 00s, I am still interested in motorsports showing some interest on the major headlines but anymore in my 40s I can't relate myself to the much younger F1 pilots still being in their early 20s. However, my interest for F1 has been combined with my other greater interest which is cryptocurrency and there couldn't be a better business and promotional exploitation of F1-oriented tokens and NFTs. An explanation for that is obvious as I wrote on my article #JETNFT: Empowering the Champions of Tomorrow for the #JETNFT writing contest and I still HODL my Alpine F1 token drops from Binance.
Cryptofab also expressed his personal opinion on the article "Are Sport Partnerships Good for Crypto?".
A recent article from Valdyr recently sparked my interest as it seems another F1 team, McLAREN is trying to combine for promotional and marketing reasons, its brand name not with a token but this time with NFTs. Specifically, in the article Free NFT from McLaren F1: Brazil Grand Prix, there was an announcement of airdropping McLAren F1 NFTs for each Grand Prix on Tezos wallet users. Unfortunately, when I tried to proceed with the claim of the NFT, I failed on that and I left a relevant comment on the article as follows:
Indeed, I have been waiting impatiently for the inaugural and prestigious Las Vegas Grand Prix to come and decided to re-installed my Trust wallet on my device although I am not a fan of it due to the high staking and withdrawal fees but also due to the several Twitter scams related with Trust Wallet as described on my article "Trust Wallet Scam Airdrop in Twitter" .
Therefore, I have decided this time to try to claim the Las Vegas McLaren F1 NFT and also write a guide how to claim it. Yet, apart from using an on-chain Tezos wallet app such as Trust Wallet, someone can use the web browser to visit collectibles.mclaren.com
I will demonstrate BOTH ways:
On-chain Tezos Wallet App
If you would like to keep your NFT on your on-chain Tezos Wallet App, first you need to visit collectibles.mclaren.com. Now, if there is any NFT available during the Grand Prix weekend, you will see something like this:
By tapping or clicking on the "CLAIM YOURS NOW" button you are given the option to sign in into your account by using your wallet credentials. Since I already had a Trust wallet, even thought it has remained idle for years, I used the Trust wallet. After all i was browsing the webpage from the Trust wallet browser already.
And then the Las Vegas McLaren F1 NFT appears on your wallet after tapping again the "CLAIM HERE" button. Please not down that since we are talking about a blockchain transaction, it takes a while to secure the NFT ownership.
Web Browser Tezos Wallet
YES! I managed to replicate the whole process and eventually claiming the NFT twice by using my laptop's web browser!
This time, you get the option to connect not only through your Kukai Tezos Web wallet but also to create a Kukai Tezos wallet account by using your social credentials. Since I didn't have a Kukai Wallet before, I signed up using my Facebook crypto-account.
Claiming procedure was similar by using my mobile Tezos wallet in Trust wallet and the McLAREN F1 Las Vegas sparking and interactive NFT became (for the 2nd time) mine!
In the end the whole process appeared to be much more easier than I initially speculate and it is such a pity that I missed the McLaren F1 NFTs from the previous Grand Prixs of the 2023 F1 season. And who knows maybe this time I will also watch the Grand Prix on FreeView TV as well!
Don't forget you can claim yours during the Grand Prix weekend too! Still, If you have missed any of them, you can purchase it on the Secondary Market objkt.com
