What is Splinterlands?
Splinterlands is a card game, similar with Hearthstone, where you can play battle against other players to get a better rank or in tournaments. It is a NFT game based on Hive Blockchain, but the cryptocurrency rewards (DEC is the name of their native token) can be used on HIVE, STEEM, ETH, TRX, WAX and on the lately added Binance Smart Chain. DEC is similar with a stablecoin, most of the time, 1000 DEC being $1. Hint: If you are selling your NFTs, At the moment the WAX market has slightly better prices then the in-game one.
And now it is easier than before (one of my main complain was about beginners not having enough cards at the start) because they offer quite a lot of Alpha and Beta cards now to the one starting to play, making it a more pleasant experience - I remember losing game after game when I just started 6 month ago, so I am glad that the developers finally sorted this issue. This being said, in the far away future there Alpha and Beta cards will have separate matches, and Untamed and the new card collection will have a different league.
This week challenge is Naga Fire Wizard, and epic Fire Splinter monster with Shield skill at level 1 (reduces Melee and Ranged attack) and Thorns (hit with a Melee attack reflects a part of it back to the attacker). At max level (8) it has an impressive 4 Magic Damage, 1 Armor and 6 Health. To get a level 8 Naga Fire Wizard you need to spend around 25$.
The only problem I see is that the Mana cost is quite high (8 Mana), but the card can be really tough to kill if is supported with Armor Repair and Tank healing. I use the Flame Monkey and the Beetle Queen for this job. How did the match went?

Teams:
Mine - Pyre (Summoner), Living Lava, Naga Fire Wizard, Flame Monkey, Beetle Queen, Chicken
Opponent - Zintar (Summoner), Haunted Spirit, Undead Priest, Skeleton Assassin, Ooze, Haunted Spider, Boogeyman
I used Pyre for extra speed, with Living Lava and Naga Fire wizard as tanks, supported by Flame Monkey with Armor repair and Beetle Queen healing the tank. The Chicken was last to get some damage instead of the Queen or Monkey. The opponent did quite well with Ooze and Boogeyman to negate my speed advantage, and the Poison from the Spider proved to be troublesome.
His Skeleton sneaked and killed my Chicken. Then his tank fell. My Living Lava died after killing the following two monsters, and then the rest of the team cleared the rest of them. Healing and Armor repair made my tanks almost invincible.
On the side note, my continuous support for Splintertalk.io is going well, with my SPT tokens number raising a bit over half a million. 71% of my target reached and hopefully the 1 million will be done in few months. But the price is too high for now to buy more SPT. All of it is delegated to @monster-curator, as this account is doing a great work curating the best posts on the forum. I must even say that the SPT token value increased quite a bit lately.
