Public Opinion Counts
The Dutch tax authority has sought public feedback on firms reporting crypto transaction data. That data will be submitted to the Dutch government, and the government will present a draft bill to the States General (House of Representatives) in 2025.
A Chance to Crypto Votes?
Although I am completely against any authority control over crypto, the tax authority asking for public opinion here shows that the Netherlands government is not preparing to lose the country's crypto votes. This gives the Dutch crypto industry and users an opportunity to put forward their views.

Individuals and Families: The Dutch public has chance to ask for high exemptions and low taxes, support to freedom of transaction, opportunity to use crypto in the market, etc.
Crypto Industry: Dutch crypto firms got an opportunity to make reasonable demands from the government, like lower taxes in compared to overseas firms, more exemptions to international users of Duch firms etc.
Authority has Balls
Whether the opinion will get any importance from the government or not, it will be known only later. No matter what the government pretends, the main objective of politicians is to impose taxes and control the economy.
