The second drawing I ever did
So one day I was thinking about how I could better learn to draw and do freehand drawing without just doing normal line drawing, bigger strokes that made the lines wonky.
After some thinking I realised I could do small, light lines I etch in with quick strokes going along where I need to be drawing as I continued to look up at my computer screen and seeing what came next. My first drawing was simpler than this Tassie Devil to get practice in, it turned out pretty well for my first time drawing and then I found Tassie Devil for my second drawing, one with a little more detail and something to increase my skill level.
Not only would I etch in the lines and make it form into quality drawings each time but I would be using an eraser as soon as I made mistakes and even the smallest mistakes. This allowed me to keep making it look a lot tidier and well drawn but it means it takes me between 2 - 4 hours to get one drawing finished, a price I was happy to pay for the satisfaction in my work.
There are some parts I am not heaps good out like in human hands which need more work, plus occasional spots I don't get quite right which happens in freehand drawing as a beginner/near-intermediate drawer.
When I get to a finished drawing, lighter in outline, I go over it all the same way to add darkness and more life which came 2 drawings after this Tassie Devil and so I knew it would look a lot better when I haven't tried colouring or shading yet, or learning to shade for that matter. But I have found people loving my drawings and I even did one for my current partner for our first date, as a gift, which she keeps in sight.
