On December 8, the launch of StableChain was announced, a layer 1 network designed to facilitate payments with stablecoins. The project is backed by Tether, the company that issues USDT.
That same day, the Stable Foundation was also unveiled, the entity responsible for overseeing the network and its native token, STABLE.
Table is a Layer 1 network focused on providing seamless transactions, using USDT, the most valuable stablecoin on the market, as its fee payment token, as reported by CriptoNoticias.
Its design promises to prioritize usability by eliminating the need for volatile tokens to pay fees. It is designed for peer-to-peer payments, remittances, and cross-border transactions, enabling near-instant settlements and offering an intuitive environment for both developers and users.
The STABLE token will play a central role in the network, serving as a security tool. It will also allow its holders to participate in the protocol's governance, enabling the community to influence decisions about the development and evolution of StableChain.
Furthermore, the project is backed by an initial funding round of $28 million, with support from the Bitfinex exchange and advisors such as Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether.
Added to this are alliances with institutional actors such as Anchorage Digital and PayPal, which reinforce StableChain's ambition to position itself as a key infrastructure for stablecoin payments.
