Plot Summary

The wife of a soldier witnesses a brutal murder and enters a state of shock.  The professionals caring for her have sinister reasons to keep her from recovering.  Can she make anyone believe her story?  Can she believe herself?

Star Power   B

Vincent Price captures the screen with his undeniable charisma, although this is not among his best performances.  Shaw is convincing, if one-dimensional, as the shock victim.

Chill Factor   D-

Watching the innocent suffer at the hands of selfish, murderous people is not exactly conducive to a night of romance.

Mental Health Check   C-

The plot is disturbing and there are a few painful scenes, although the overdramatic dialogue ironically relieves the tension a bit by pushing the concept of shock almost to the point of humor.  Nevertheless, this film is not relaxing before bed.

Overall Grade   C

Although the main idea of the film presents an opportunity to wrestle with conflicting moral agendas, the result is mainly linear and predictable.  Vincent Price's character is the only one with any complexity.  Tension is achieved but ambiguity is missing.
