With it being the last day and final few hours of the month I decided to check on my pending BAT rewards and the number of ads I have seen to see if I could get an idea of how this month's BAT payout will workout. If you did not already know you might have noticed there was another BAT reduction. Rewards can be either 0.001, 0.0025, or 0.005 and since Brave's Team did not post about it earlier and still have not put anything on the blog or pinned a post to the Community blog a lot of people are upset.
With that being said and done as of writing this post I have seen 255 ads on my main computer with an estimated 3.026 BAT and my other computer have seen 165 ads with 2.090 BAT pending. With how Brave works the exact amount of BAT is calculated once the month ends and so adjustments are common to have. A few months ago I actually gained about a half a BAT and I have never really run across any negatives revisions that were noticeable.
It was nice to see that the total number of ads has really kept up. This month I was off my computer entirely for a few days so I expected the number to come in a little lower. I typically run up close to 300-325 ads a month so I knew I would not get the same amount of BAT I had been. Last month a little over 4 BAT from my main computer and 2.75 from my otherone. Normally I write down my number of ads as I try to keep track of it is see how the results turn out but I forgot to last month.
Overall though even with the BAT cut I should receive ~5 BAT which is right around $6 USD which I really cannot argue with. With the limits allowing for people to see up to 20 paying ads a day in a 30 day month that's 600 ads. Now in all my years of using Brave I can only think of a handful of times I went over 400 and the payouts were amazing. If I can keep averaging around the 300-350 range on my main computer and still get 4+ BAT I would be thrilled. That would put it at a few dollars a month for already doing what I am and having almost all ads blocked automatically for me.
When the payouts start on May 5th it will be interesting to see the people who work for Brave respond to everyone's comments and concerns. They typically are pretty upfront about all the issues with the payouts so now being presented with this they will have to address it. I know some tweets have been released but I mean that really doesn't address the issue and could been seen as hiding by some.
