Harvest Finance.... Man once I think they cannot surprise me again BAM they do! This morning they announced their newest partnership and honestly I am super fascinated by it. By partnering with Genomes they have branched out of the crypto world!
Who is Genomes?
Genomes is a fascinating company that operates in a cutting edge space. What they do is sequence peoples genomes to allow the individual to find out if they are possible carriers of genetic issues or if they want to learn more about their ancestry! This space has been rapidly growing for a while now and will continue to do so! An issue that has arisen though is keeping your genetic information private. People, rightfully so, are worried about hackers in databases or law enforcement having access to what really makes you you!
Once your DNA has been sequenced to keep it safe all of the data is put in a vault that is stored on the Polygon blockchain! This allows for extremely secure transfers of the data to you and if you want to share it with others a way for them to access it! With Genomes, you can also opt to let your data be shared with researchers working on the DNA section in question and let you benefit financially from your corporation!
What is being farmed then?
Well Genomes has two different tokens both that can be farmed on Harvest’s Polygon blockchain! The first pair is GENE-ETH! GENE is a deflationary token that researchers pay in for the data those who are willing to provide! Currently it's yield is over 402% with that being broken into 27% miFARM, 17% wMATIC and 357% in GENE! The second pair is GNOME-ETH which is the governance token and allows for the project to become decentralized and those holders to help guide the development of the platform! Currently it's yield is over 305% with that being broken into 20% miFARM, 13% wMATIC and 273% in GNOME!
Final Thoughts
This is the first project I have seen on any DeFi platform like this! Finally, we are having DeFi branch out and have an impact on real-world things like healthcare! While it is not guaranteed to be a success I have to admit this is one of the coolest things yet that Harvest has offered! You can read more about them here!
