No matter if it has been a booming cycle or a crypto winter Brave has continued to move forward in its attempt to better its Native Browser wallet. Now is Brave's wallet perfect? Far from it but has it come a heck of a long way? Absolutely! This most recent step though is a huge step forward for all the privacy lovers out there!
Just a couple of weeks ago the Development Team released its latest version which came with it the ability to conduct shielded Zcash transactions in the browser-native Brave Wallet. This integration is part of the ongoing partnership with Zcash/ECC and Filecoin Foundation to allows the privacy-preserving Zcash native currency (ZEC) to be bought, sent, and received directly within Brave Wallet. Furthermore,

The integration introduces Brave Wallet users to a privacy-preserving technology that they can access alongside existing supported networks like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana.
Zcash is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency that forked and adapted an early version of the Bitcoin code and offers both transparent transactions and private ones that are called "shielded" transactions. Shielded transactions use zero-knowledge proofs and transactions in Zcash can be controlled by either a transparent address (t-addr) or a shielded address (z-addr), allowing users to choose between public and private transactions. In a world where privacy has been eroded away Zcash was the first crypto to develop zero-knowledge encryption for private peer-to-peer payments.
