Everyones favorite Web 3 Browser is at it again releasing a pair of announcements that we have honestly come to expect them to announce monthly. Even as the crypto winter has persisted the Brave team has continued to build and grow both its partnerships and its internal products.
Brave Talk
The first update deals with their own developed product Brave Talk, the privacy-preserving video calling service. When utilizing Brave Talk the hosts of the calls can now use NFTs or POAPs to token-gate access, configure avatars, assign moderator permissions, and more. Compared to other services like Zoom or Google Meet Brave Talk has furthered the control that the host has over the call by incorporating these features. With competitors, the only control that the host has is the password/code for the call once in they lack the functionality that Brave Talk now enables its users with!
This Brave Talk upgrade does something I feel that is really special in that it enables NFTs to have new or additional utility. The development team has now successfully developed the first fully integrated Web3 live event platform with the whole suite of products under one umbrella (browser, wallet, and video).
Brave's team has also announced what they are working on targeting next with Brave Talk. Only ERC-721 NFTs are supported and so they are working on expanding this, allowing for token balances to be a gatekeeping measure, and sending crypto to a participant among others! All of these will continue to expand this browser's functionality setting it apart from others and capturing more of an audience in the developing Web 3 world!
BitPay Partnership
The second announcement was that Brave has partnered with BitPay, the world's leading crypto payment protocol. This enables Brave Wallet users to now shop with their crypto at thousands of merchants online and in-store. Companies that accept or use this include APMEX, PacSun, AMC Theatres, and even airBaltic among more. Since the Beta version was released years ago Brave Wallet has really come a long way and this feature only furthers it as a useful wallet. Accomplishing this bridge really solidifies Brave Wallets functionality and that is what the crypto industry needs more of and Brave once again is proud to deliver!
