Upgrading Water Cards

Keep in mind that this article leaves out one of the crucial cards of Water, which is listed in one of my previous articles here. This is the #1 card to get for Water for newcomers, specifically at level 3, however, below are 5 other cards for Level 2-3 that will benefit your deck and give new options for relatively low costs.

Remember that these cards are meant to be budget friendly and beginner friendly, as such, many of the BEST cards are left out for a different article. This article focuses on Newcomers with very little capital and/or earning power who want the biggest bang for their buck.

#1 Sabre Tooth, A high melee Backline Attacker

This is a more expensive card, but he's worth it, with an immediate upgrade of +1 Melee at Level 2, this is a great card to get, and upgrade to immediately see some benefit in the Water Splinter. Level 3 will give it +1 Health as well. This gives Water a significant amount of the backline damage that it lacks initially.

Costs: Level 2/3 Normal $3.72/8, Gold Foil: $145
Renting: Normal: DEC N/A/12.95 day, Gold Foil: 4.75 DEC / day

#2 Feasting Seaweed, A High Melee Opportunity Attacker

Feasting Seaweed gains +1 HP at Level 2, this is not very significant, but Level 3 gives him +1 Melee, making him a more threatening Opportunity Attacker. He pairs nicely with Sabre Shark and Demented Shark for a Melee heavy team with very high damage to the backlines.

Costs: Level 2/3 Normal $2/15, Gold Foil: $8
Renting: Normal: DEC 0.34/0.65 day, Gold Foil: 3 DEC / day

#3 Frost Lion, a Low Mana Tank

A Cheap Tank I mentioned early on in my last Water related article. This guy is cheap, and his Void Armor ability means that his armor and health pool are hit by ALL enemies. Making him significantly more tanky than he seems. His upgrades grant him +1 Health and +1 Shield, bringing his total health pool against ALL enemies to 4! He's a perfect cheap upgrade for low mana Water, especially ones that are under 16 Mana.

Costs: Level 2/3 Normal $1.25/3, Gold Foil: $8.50
Renting: Normal: DEC 0.12/0.24 day, Gold Foil: 2.5 DEC / day

#4 Wave Runner, a Low Mana off-tank for position 2

With an upgrade of +1 Speed at Level 2 and +1 Health at Level 3, this is a great choice for a secondary tank with Reach ability. This will open up the doors to a melee centric Water build, and works nicely paired with Sea Monster in high mana. He is also one of the cheaper water cards!

Costs: Level 2/3 Normal $2.35/3.80, Gold Foil: $7
Renting: Normal: DEC 0.14/0.24 day, Gold Foil: 3.6 DEC / day

#5 Albatross, a low cost Healer

Albatross_lv3.png

You're going WHAT, why? This is a long-term investment type card. If you're not planning to play long term, or into the upper spectrum of the game, ignore this one entirely. Seriously, don't even CONSIDER IT. At Level 3, this card simply gains +1 Speed. He is easily the worst card to upgrade specifically for Level 3. WHY IS HE HERE THEN??!!

At Level 6, he gains Tank Heal, becoming a 1 MANA CARD THAT CAN HEAL YOUR TANK. Seriously, this is one of the worst cards in Water up to Level 5, and might actually be one of the best cards to use after Level 5. (At the very least, one of the best Common cards)

Costs: Level 2/3 Normal $2.60/ N/A, Gold Foil: $8
Renting: Normal: DEC 0.34/0.9 day, Gold Foil: 3 DEC / day

BONUS: Pirate Captain, a Low Mana Sniper

Okay, it's not fair to have 5 with one of them being a long-term card you can't capitalize on immediately, so here's Pirate Captain. At Level 2, this sniper gains +1 Range, and at level 3, he gains +1 speed, making him a decent, low cost sniper for Water builds.

Costs: Level 2/3 Normal $6/10 , Gold Foil: $225
Renting: Normal: DEC 1/4day, Gold Foil: 17 DEC / day
