The price of Bitcoin is up over 75% in the last month and well past 25% in the last week, to reach the $37,000 mark today! The surging price combined with newly minted Bitcoin has resulted in a market capitalization of $689 billion putting BTC in the top 10 assets in terms of market capitalization. BitGo is making things happen with its Ethereum-based tokenized bitcoin project, Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), has expanded to its second blockchain, Tron. The crypto custodian has also launched Wrapped Ether (WETH) on Tron as well. BitGo clients are already minting WBTC and WETH as TRC-20 tokens on Tron, according to the company's public orderbooks. This is good to know that an established entity like BitGo is now operating DeFi activities on the Tron blockchain. Another important story this week comes from ZDNet, regarding a highly destructive and dangerous malware called ElectroRAT. Security firm Intezer Labs said it discovered a covert year-long malware operation where cybercriminals created fake cryptocurrency apps in order to trick users into installing a new strain of malware on their systems, with the obvious end goal of stealing victims' funds.
