Thunder tree flowers

By marjuanm | Brushstrokes of the Day | 2 Sep 2025

Hello everyone! These photographs are of the thunderhead tree (Ligustrum lucidum), which is native to China but found in various parts of the world, including Mexico.

It's the largest species of the Ligustrum genus, growing to a height of 3 to 8 meters (or even more). It has dark green leaves and produces pale yellow flowers in certain months of the year.

Precisely these flowers that I am sharing in these photographs, which were taken in the city of Puebla, Mexico.
